Stan has
been doing appraisal work since 1976 when he started his career working
as the staff appraiser for Mattoon Federal Savings and Loan, which later
became Heartland Savings Bank and now is part of First Mid-Illinois
Bancshares, Inc.
In 1989, Heartland opened a subsidiary company called
Hearthstone Appraisal Company and Stan was placed in charge of that
subsidiary. In 1992, When First Mid-Illinois Bancshares, Inc.
bought Heartland they sold their interest in Hearthstone Appraisal
Company to Stan and it became, S.D. Gordon and Associates, LTD.
S.D. Gordon and Associates was based in Charleston, IL until
1997 when Stan decided to start something new in Mattoon. Gordon
Appraisal Service, Inc. was started in 1997. Now located above
Warner's Office Equipment at 1601 Broadway Avenue, Gordon Appraisal,
Inc. serves 8 counties in a wide array of ways.
Stan and his wife Debbie (of 29 years) reside in Gays, IL. They have two grown children. Jason, who is the Minister of Connections at Brady Lane Church of Christ in Lafayette, IN, is married and Justin who is married and is Pastor of Technical Services at Real Life Church, Santa Clarita Valley, California. Stan and Debbie have a two year old grand-daughter and one year old grandson.
Stan enjoys watching sports, especially the St, Louis Cardinals, and is very active at Broadway Christian Church in Mattoon.
